Fabricator
Using the StruWalker Model the fabricator can be involved in the project from the very beginning; at early stages the StruWalker model and data grid can be used for sequencing and advanced material ordering, which can be tracked and bottlenecks identified through the use of StruM.I.S integration. In the later stages of the project, the packaging facilities can be used to view, query and print information from the model. Advanced piece tracking and production management features can also be used through StruM.I.S integration.
Project Information Packaging
When the StruWalker and the StruCad Drawing Viewer are combined together all project information can be packaged and distributed in a single, read only package. AceCad’s StruWalker & Drawing viewer freeware allows StruWalker models, drawings, CAM output, reports etc to be viewed and printed from one single application. This simple, but effective packaging and distribution ensures the latest information is always available through the supply chain; detail to fabrication to site.
Measure Distances & Query Piece Data
The measure tool can be used to check positioning, from structural frame, grid or member positions right down to fabrication level checks such as bolt edge distances or plate positioning. The Enquire tool provides interactive display and query of object data such as piece sizes or custom attributes, right down to specific weld sizes. With rapid access to model data anywhere, at any time, and to an unprecedented level of detail, errors and delays can be greatly reduced.
Review Deliverables & File Attachments
File attachments such as structural General Arrangements, can be linked to the model, or connection design linked directly to the member or connections. Simple click and open features allow StruCad drawings to be viewed by selecting the part in the 3D model, or opening DXF, DWG or DWF files in the embedded viewer that is provided with StruWalker. Embedded StruCad CAM files may also be viewed.
Sequencing & Scheduling
Detail, fabrication, site delivery schedule status and erection sequencing can be readily displayed using the structural 3D model, utilizing an option to colour objects, based on attribute values, allowing object properties to be defined. The Sequence Attribute function allows viewing and recording of an animated sequence based on any attribute. This can be used for advanced erection planning, phasing and lotting etc. combined with the ability to define your own sequences/schedules through custom attributes.
Fabrication Management Integration: Scheduling & Piece Tracking
Real-time and direct bi-directional integration with StruM.I.S, for fabrication management, enables piece tracking information such as material status, fabrication status and delivery/erection status to be accessible via the StruWalker model. This provides a powerful capability to analyze the project schedule and the identification of bottlenecks much earlier in the project.
Gantt Charts
To compliment the features already available to Project Managers and Erectors, StruWalker now has added functionality supporting the creation of Gantt Charts from user attribute data in the model. StruWalker will automatically generate a Gantt Chart based on the current data available for the chosen user attribute, creating a task from each unique value in the attribute data and the resulting chart may then be customized for specific purposes.
